Sparring & Safety Equipment Rules
Hey y’all! I just wanted make sure I informed everyone on a few important rules and updates regarding sparring/safety equipment. It has been asked a few times if students can bring in their own new or used gear. Unfortunately the short answer is NO. Our insurance policy demands all gear is purchased through the dojo where it will be used. We are forced to buy from our insurance companies nominated and approved vendor list. Now there is pros and cons but I do agree the pros outweigh the cons. Please see below.
Pros
- All nominated vendors go through rigorous testing for safety. Some testing such as padding durability, lead, dyes and functionality. We agree that when safety gear is used here at Strikers Haus it needs to be safe on impact, and on the skin of the athletes and their opponents.
- Today with amazon and third party websites we are overwhelmed with so many imported and counterfeit brands that it becomes a liability and major risk that we can’t take.
- You support your dojo and instructor. A place where you and your child train.
Cons
- You can’t bring in your cousins used equipment.
- You can’t buy from ebay or marketplace
- You can’t buy from amazon
- You don’t support your school and dojo

Our own team branded House GEAR IS COMING
Whats taking so long ? The answer is everything I mentioned above!! Our policy only allows us to manufacture through their nominated and approved vendors everything must be tested and approved. The good news is we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. By end of January we should be approved and in production. Stay tuned!
Distribution of sparring gear
When you order sparring gear it normally takes 5-7 business days. Once received we will let you know it has arrived and pick up on one of our sparring days which is Thursdays or Saturday’s. This allows us to be prepared with separation of orders and saves sensei time along with respecting other students class time.
